Girgeos Granato – Organic Pomegranate and Quince Preserve

The most beautiful red in the pantry. Granato Compote is made with just three ingredients — organic pomegranate juice (50%), quince pulp (20%), and sugar — with 105g of fruit for every 100g of product. Nothing superfluous, everything in its place.

What's surprising is the progression: it opens with the tart-sweet flavor of quince, floral and ancient; in the middle comes the round sweetness of sugar; then pomegranate closes it out, with its sharp, pungent note that makes your mouth water and cleanses the palate distinctly. The paradox is this: despite being a jam, the vibrancy of the pomegranate completely masks the perception of sweetness. You don't expect to immediately want another spoonful — yet you do.
